Proudly Part Of The Community Of Sydney Catholic Schools

Principal's MessageWelcome to St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School Rosebery, where children and families thrive in a vibrant educational and faith community.

At St Joseph’s, we are proud to offer a contemporary educational environment designed to support the learning growth and wellbeing of every child. Since opening our doors in 2023, we’ve welcomed our students into dynamic learning hubs where student learning, collaboration, creativity, and strong relationships flourish.

Our spaces are thoughtfully designed with learning in mind— whole class areas, presentation areas, maker spaces, collaboration hubs, and quiet work zones all equip our students with the knowledge and skills they need for success both in school and beyond.

Before and after school care is available in our school hall. St Joseph’s Preschool and Long Day Care Centre is located on site to cater for the high demand for childcare locally. St Joseph’s Rosebery Church is also on-site, ensuring education and care in a faith-based environment will be available from Preschool to Year 6.

We are currently welcoming enrolments for Kindergarten to Year 2 in 2025, expanding to Kindergarten to Year 3 in 2026.

Proudly Part of the Community of Sydney Catholic Schools

Our school is part of a system of 147 low-fee Catholic schools in the Sydney Archdiocese.

Sydney Catholic Schools are thriving Catholic communities that ignite a love of Christ through excellent teaching and learning to empower students to reach their full potential.

St Joseph was a parent of courage and faith, who with Mary loved and cared for God’s only Son. Creative and daring when presented with a challenge, he worked hard and lived humbly. His example inspires us to live the Gospel and grow closer to God in faith and love.

This week we gathered as a school to celebrate the canonisation of St Carlo Acutis with a special liturgy. The children joined in prayer as we prepared the prayer space with items symbolising the life of the first millennial saint. St Carlo Acutis reminded us that “the Eucharist was his highway to heaven”, with a deep love for the presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.

As part of the celebration, the children decorated sneakers to symbolise how they too can walk in the footsteps of Jesus, just as St Carlo did in his own life. #SydneyCatholicSchools #creatingfutures #stjrosebery #parishofsydneycitysouth

Last week we took part in a beautiful pilgrimage to Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, Waterloo. It was a blessing to come together in faith with parents and coordinators from SCECS, spending quiet time in Adoration, praying in the presence of Jesus. On our return, we created beautiful satin Rosary bookmarks — a treasured reminder of prayer, peace, and devotion. A special thank you to Fr Paul for guiding our community and sharing this special experience with us. #SydneyCatholicSchools #stjrosebery #parishofsydneycitysouth

This morning at Tender Tales we prayed together, sang our favourite songs, and enjoyed a wonderful story — The Bad-Tempered Ladybird. 🐞 Through the story, we learned about kindness and sharing can make a big difference in our friendships and daily lives. The children then made their very own (well-mannered) ladybirds — each one unique, creative, and full of smiles! #SydneyCatholicSchools #creatingfutures #stjrosebery #parishofsydneycitysouth

We are roaring with excitement to let you in on an exceptional discovery made today on the library deck!
Students in Year 1 and Year 2 stumbled upon a gigantic egg — and based on all we’ve learnt in Science this term about Living Things, they made some pretty egg-cellent predictions about where it came from, what it belonged to… and what might be inside.
Well, would you be-leaf it? At lunchtime the egg HATCHED! Some of our budding scientists had it right — it was a… DINOSAUR!!

The students will be putting on their Paleontologist hats over the next two weeks to investigate how to care for our scaly friend. We’re calling it Project Dino-scovery #SydneyCatholicSchools #creatingfutures #stjrosebery #parishofsydneycitysouth #science #livingthings #dinoscovery

Wishing all of our Dads, Grandfathers and father figures a great Father’s Day!
We also reflect today on St Joseph, the earthly father of Jesus. Pope Francis describes St Joseph as a beloved, tender and loving, obedient, accepting, creatively courageous, working and humble father to Jesus. We pray on Father’s Day for St Joseph to guide all fathers along the path of life. Amen.
